Mini Quilt Retreat

On Saturday, May 19th, GerriSue, our current President, organized a Mini Quilt Retreat and it was well attended. We had about 22 people come and sew and sew and sew. GerriSue had a little mug rug, Make it and Take it for us to do.  Several of us did a mini  demo and it was just fun to see what everyone was working on.  One of the most interesting facts to me was that we had a 4 generation family attending. There was Lou, the matriarch, GerriSue; her daughter, Christine; Lou's grand daughter, and Abigail; Lou's great grand daughter.  I don't think that this would happen in many guild's...We are so proud of our 4 Generation Family!!!  I'm so sorry that I didn't get a picture of them but I will surely try to get one soon.
Here's Jill giving a demo on a new ruler that she has been using..she did a great job explaining it. Sure does help to have that visual lesson when it comes to some of those specialty rulers that are so expensive. We just had a good time, maybe you should organize a mini retreat for your guild..it was a good way to get to know some of our members better.  Fun was had by all!!!  Check out Karen's blog to see her quilt that she worked on at the retreat. It is already a show stopper and she's not done with it yet..Here's the link to it: http://hazeldellquilts.blogspot.com/2012/05/fun-fun-fun.html
Until next time......

  1. The blog looks very nice! And thanks for the link! It was a wonderful day. (And I want to make a zigzag quilt using your no waste flying geese method. Thanks for the demo on that one.)
